A LETTER FROM OUR FOUNDER
Hi! My name is Casey Casamento, and I’m the founder of Storehouse. I am so excited that you have found your way to the Storehouse community! We really believe that God is building a community of Kingdom creatives and influencers to pursue their creative callings while bringing beauty and truth to our dark and confused world.
I grew up in Wichita, Kansas and have heard too many Wizard of Oz comments over the years. For the record, I have endured a tornado once. I am living my dream being married to my high school sweetheart, Amy. But that almost didn’t happen. Our story is filled with twists and turns, and includes God miraculously moving to bring us back together. We’ll share that with you another time. We’re called Mom and Dad to four human beings that bring incredible joy to our lives.
A few other random thoughts about me. I believe futbol is the real football. I could eat Mexican food every day. I have a Ph.D. but sometimes forget that I do. I have traveled to six countries on three different continents and am deeply curious about others’ cultures. I scream “Rock Chalk” during college basketball season and can’t believe that I witnessed the Kansas City Chiefs winning the Superbowl.
Above all, however, you have to know that Jesus has changed my life. In Christ, God has saved me, filled me with his Spirit and has invited me into an adventurous life. God has met me in my story and brought incredible freedom in my life over the years. I have two seminary degrees, served as a youth pastor, church planter, and pastor, but have always been a bit perplexed by my entrepreneur heart.
Storehouse is an expression of a deep passion I have to see other people thrive and flourish in their lives, relationships, careers and callings. She is also an expression of a deeply held conviction I hold that God’s Kingdom is advancing around the world through his people who courageously serve, lead, and create for God’s glory and the good of their neighbors. We serve a God whose creativity is infinite and is calling and empowering his Church to influence and change culture, not hide from it.
At the end of the day, I long for Storehouse to be a community for creators and influencers that produces encouragement and inspiration to continue creating, influencing and leading. Don’t stop creating! I’m proud of the platform that we have built. But I’m more proud of the community that we’re building. I believe our community and platform is going to open new opportunities for collaboration and partnership for Kingdom creators around the world.
The world needs you to say yes to your creative calling. You doing your thing and making much of Jesus is how the gospel goes forward. I’m afraid that left to ourselves we will be overwhelmed with discouragement, but together we can persevere. Will you join us? Take your courageous step today. Welcome to our community!
